Your ring will be individually handmade by Dublin’s oldest and largest jewelry house and then assayed and hallmarked by The Company of Goldsmiths of Dublin The Assay Office in Dublin Castle, established in 1637, making it the oldest continuously operating assay office in the world,
“Assay” means to determine the metal content, namely how much precious metal is in the ring.
14K gold must contain 58.5% gold with 41.5% other alloys used to make gold stronger and, when necessary, to change the color from yellow to white or rose. The European designation for the gold content of a 14K gold ring is 585, and this number will be stamped on the inside of your ring.
18K gold must be 75% gold with 25% other alloys. The designation for the gold content of an 18K gold ring is 750.
Platinum must contain 95% gold with 5% alloys. The designation for the platinum content is 950.
How do you suppose every ring is shown to have the correct amount of precious metal in it with no exceptions? Our Irish jewelers make sure there is a little extra gold or platinum in each ring so it will definitely pass the assay process. Once passed, the ring will receive the hallmark of the Dublin Assay Office. The hallmark is your confirmation of quality!
Our genuine Irish Celtic rings are absolutely, meticulously perfect in design and finish. You will find no finer Celtic rings!
