The claddagh symbol, believed to date to over 300 years ago in Galway, Ireland, features two hands, a heart, and a crown. The hands represent friendship, the heart, love, and the crown loyalty, for an overall meaning of, “Love, loyalty, friendship: May love and friendship reign.”
